Anatomy of Human Achievement

I was watching Joseph McClendon III speak at the Longevity Now Conference on video this year, and my mind was blown. This guy is a total dynamo who gives outstanding advice to direct the best mindset for outstanding results in anything you do. Here’s a few notes I took from his presentation: I hope that they give you insight into how to achieve your desired goals: Enjoy!

Anatomy of Human Achievement:

  • Change how you think and you’ll change how you feel.

  • Change how you feel and you’ll change what you “DO”.

  • Change what you “Do” and you change what you have.

His directions for good posture: Stand like you are a “golden god” or hero/heroine. You have the deck stacked in your favor to be, do, and have whatever you WANT.

You came into this world at the odds of 60 Billion to one! There were 60 billion other sperm that tried to fertilize your mom’s egg, and YOU are the result of that.

  1. I am the master of my fate: only YOU are in control of what goes on inside your head.

  2. I am ultra-effective at more than I’m not: by a ratio of 1 million to 1, you are better at things like combing your hair, brushing your teeth, reading that you take for granted. Don’t forget to praise the miracle of all the things you CAN do.

  3. It’s not about focus, it’s about re-focus. How many times have you set out to do A, B, and C, and then end up doing D, H, Z, or whatever comes up. This also happens while meditating. Dr. McClendon talked to Deepak Chopra, and he said to imagine a basketball scoreboard, and count down from 100: do 99, 98, 97… and even if you start thinking about something before you hit 96, stop and go back to 100. Feel good that you caught yourself, then start over again. That is the challenge of meditation, and it’s so positive. For me, the practice of mindfulness can be practiced with just counting your pushups or sit-ups—noticing when your mind drifts off and then re-focusing.

I love Joseph’s “50 foot Rule”: if you come within 50 feet of me, I love you. The rule is to work on yourself more, and the electromagnetic energy of your aura will spread to others. Don’t worry about what other people are doing, work on what you can do to make yourself better. As Gandhi said, “Be the Change that you Wish to See in the World”

Life is exactly what you DARE to make it. If you’re afraid of something, boldly step up and DARE to make your life MAGNIFICENT!
