Appreciation

This is a journal entry on 3-28-16 that I recently found on my computer, which I really wanted to share with all of you awesome people out there. Enjoy, and appreciate all your moments!!

This seems all too simple to help, but it’s absolutely amazing to experience the shift I feel when I enter into a sense of appreciation. In the book The Joy of Appreciative Living by Jacqueline Kelm, 3 simple exercises performed daily for 28 days can create greater happiness. See the website www.AppreciativeLiving.com for details.

Exercise 1: List 3 things you are grateful for. Then take 30 seconds to close your eyes and really focus on and feel appreciation for each one.

Exercise 2: The Daily Question: “What one thing could I do today, no matter how small, that would increase my joy?” Take 2-3 minutes to reflect on your answer to the question, and write it down.

Exercise 3: Once a week, write down the statement: “This is my ideal, joy-filled life”. Pretend that a miracle occurred and your perfect, ideal life manifested right now before your eyes. Write down every glorious piece you can imagine about what this ideal life looks like at the highest level. You only have 15 minutes, so keep the vision big. How is your health, career? Relationships? Home? List the ideas as they stream through your mind. Let your deepest hopes and desires come forth and dream about your perfect, happy life. Pretend it is really happening now, and feel the joy inside of you as you write.

I’m going to return this book to the lib soon and I didn’t want this wisdom to leave me. However I know that the thought of doing it is NOT ACTUALLY DOING IT! I would like to think that I could do this simple act, but it may get scattered in with the rest of the stuff I do all day. I’m going to post the daily questions somewhere at home, probably upstairs in the bathroom, so I can just meditate on this to get into a great state of mind.

For the other part, something similar was done when I took the amazing course Clear Mind, Bright Future, which I just did at the beginning of the year. I have a strong intent to transform my health and financial life, with more joy than ever with the amazing people in my life.

Another thing I do is listen to the Gratitude Paraliminal at night, which gets me in a resourceful state of mind to be my best in the world. If you’re unfamiliar with Paraliminals, find more out about them at the Learning Strategies Corporation website.

The weekly exercise mentioned in Kelm’s book will be a great way to reinforce the vision I set. For me (and most people), the biggest thing is just knowing what I want. Since I’ve been confused about what that is, then I’ve been getting results that resemble my thoughts. I’m clearer than I have been for a while, and I think that will get clearer as I ask the right questions, and feel my true heart’s desire.

Oh, by the way, appreciation means “increase”. Therefore by giving your appreciation for things, you bring more abundance into your presence.
